An exploration of self

This project all began with the concept of ‘image association’. When someone asks me to picture something, I often times see a very graphic or cartoon image of that object. Upon the realization and further self-reflection that this is different for everyone - I began to explore a coping mechanism I have. In times of frustration or overwhelming thoughts, I find that I can best explain those feelings to another through the use of a visualization I see of a girl. This then led to my Senior Capstone, labeled ‘Self’ which allowed me to immerse myself fully into this mechanism which allows me to communicate better with others and to feel better for my own self.

 
 

THE PROCESS...

Many of these GIFs and Illustrations began from a quick jot down of a image I saw in my head at a time of self-reflection. From there, it became a sketch, a picture, and eventually an illustration.

‘HOT WHEELZ’ REBRAND

a rebrand for the female centered racing team at rit…

As the Marketing Systems Lead for RIT Hot Wheelz, I began working on a complete rebrand and overhaul for the look and feel of the team. This included a new logo, work on a new website, and a branding portal for the marketing lead next year. This project was derailed due to COVID in terms of timelines, as the actual reveal will not take place during Spring 2020.

a branding guide…

A large component of the rebrand for Hot Wheelz was getting our team to be on one page. Using the same color pink, more consistent marketing materials, etc. This will hopefully proceed in the future through the creating of our branding guide. A hidden URL on the team website, the team can now obtain any marketing materials they need from anywhere with internet! This will allow us to connect with our sponsors more easily as well as work with RIT’s branding!

 
 

Social media…

Along with all our hard work that was going undercover, we began to roll out active social media graphics! Due to COVID, the campaign was sadly post poned until the reveal of the rebrand with the car next year. However, seen below you can see insights to a new and improved campaign to say farewell and you will be missed to our graduating seniors from Hot Wheelz!

OUR SENIOR CLASS…

Due to the pandemic, the graduating class for RIT’s Visual Media program were unable to exhibit our senior capstones in person. With this in mind, we went digital! My contributions to the campaign consisted of the planning for our social media, the creation of the ‘cover tiles’ with my classmates names, and the above gif. Along side of this, I was able to organize a website to host previews of everyone’s campaigns on our majors website.
